Dear friends,
After a year of the worst drought on record here in central TX, we are now getting so much rain that we can't even believe it. Our spring gardening plans have been delayed, but that's OK with me. The aquifer needs to be replenished and even though the lakes are up around here, we can still use every drop we get.
Our swallows have returned, and this year, we left the nest in place, hoping that they'd use it. Last year we tore the nest down, not knowing that they sometimes would come back to the same nest to raise their young. It's a really good feeling, knowing that this pair were probably born underneath our front porch roof.
I have more photos of the snow, etc. and will post them as soon as I find them in this hobbit hole of an office.
Spring has sprung here! BOING!!!!
