We've just seen a flock of about 30 cedar waxwings sitting in the top of our oak tree right beside the back kitchen door. We're getting a wonderful view of them from our back living room window, too.
Supposedly, these birds fly through Texas here in the winter on their way to their breeding grounds up in Canada. People on various websites are reporting a shortage of the birds this year, but perhaps they're just slow in migrating.
Hmmm, and here we thought spring had already sprung! Maybe not...
